Course Overview

The 2021 Basic Life Support (BLS) BLENDED COURSE course provides healthcare providers and public safety professionals the knowledge and skills necessary to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies in adult, child and infant patients in a hybrid blended format. Consistent with the 2020 AHA Guidelines for CPR/ECC, BLS is the foundational CPR/AED program typically required for healthcare providers and public safety professionals.Through the use of online lectures, in-person skills demonstration, practice and case-based emergency response scenarios with a focus on team-based response, this course format builds the key critical thinking, problem solving, and team dynamic skills that are needed to drive better patient outcomes at your own pace. Upon successful completion of the blended course, learners will receive a 2-year Basic Life Support digital certificate from the American Red Cross with anytime, anywhere access to certificate and training history.

Advanced Life Support (ALS) training from the American Red Cross builds on your BLS skills to help you deliver a greater level of care. Featuring science-based curriculum and personalized instruction, ALS Blended classes use a scenario-based approach and focus on medically complex cases requiring advanced interventions. This course is recommended for currently active or soon to be active healthcare providers based in a practice setting that requires ACLS knowledge and skills as a condition of employment but need to complete a course at their own pace. This ARC ALS BLENDED COURSE course is designed to teach the knowledge and skills required to implement ACLS treatments in accordance to the 2020 AHA Guidelines for CPR and ECC. We provide a unique hands-on form of training that helps the students practice and prepare to improve the outcomes for adult patients in cardiac arrest and other cardiopulmonary emergencies.

This ARC PALS Blended Learning course is designed to teach the knowledge and skills required to implement the latest PALS treatments in accordance to the 2020 AHA Guidelines for CPR and ECC. Students who successfully complete this blended course will receive a certificate for Adult and Pediatric CPR/AED valid for two years from the American Red Cross.

 

Online Module: 

Students will complete an online module prior to coming to the hands on session. Both the online and hands on skills session are REQUIRED in order to recieve you First Aid CPR/AED Certificate. Students who successfully complete this blended course will receive a certificate for Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED valid for two years.

We provide a unique hands-on form of training with a one to one student-mannequin ratio ensuring effective learning and ample retention.

This course is also required by healthcare facilities for health care providers to acquire and maintain employment. This in-class course offers up-to-date information on CPR that are part of the latest published science and education from the 2020 AHA Guidelines for CPR and ECC.

The ideal instructor candidate also views student assessments as a way to improve individual knowledge and skills. 

 

This Course Includes 

  • Core BLS Instructor Class Session 
  • Alignment under an AHA Training Center 
  • Access to the AHA Instructor Network 
  • One BLS Monitoring Session

 

Minimum Requirements  

  • Be at least 16 years of age
  • Completion of "BLS Online Instructor Essentials" 
  • Have a current AHA BLS Provider Course Completion Card 
  • Be proficient in the skills of BLS
  • Have a 2020 BLS Instructor Manual and 2020 BLS Provider Manual 
  • If renewing or transferring from another primary Training Center, you must have a current/unexpired AHA BLS Instructor Card to receive the renewal discount

The in person skills practical consists of meeting with one of our AHA instructors either in a class, or at your home or office in order to demonstrate proper knowledge of adult, child, and infant basic life support skills.

Who Should Attend

The NRP Provider Course 8th Edition introduces the concepts and basic skills of neonatal resuscitation. It is designed for currently active or soon to be active health care professionals involved in any aspect of neonatal resuscitation, including but not limited to physicians, nurses, advanced nurse practitioners, nurse midwi​​ves, licensed midwives, respiratory care practitioners, and other health care professionals who provide direct care during neonatal resuscitation.

 

Course Overview 

This program is designed to give participants the knowledge and skills necessary to resuscitate newborns; improper response to a depressed neonate in the first few minutes may affect the rest of that child’s life.  This course uses case-based interactive stations to cover the required modules: Assessment, Initial Resuscitation, and Bag Valve Mask Ventilations, Intubation, CPR, and Medication.

Our programs provides an actual educational classroom session along with the skills review and competency testing

In 2022, the American Academy of Pediatrics changed the NRP format to an “effective online blended learning system.” Then the student was to be evaluated in Neonatal Resuscitation Competency Skills.  We suggest all participants review the book extensively while completeing the online portion.

This course REQUIRES completion of an online exam that must be completed NO GREATER than 90 days prior to the classroom session. (Online course is available from the NRP Learning Platform website)

Any fees charged for such a course, except for a portion of fees needed for course materials, do not represent income to the AHA.

All Instructor-led provider courses are subject to cancellations the day before the scheduled course, if there are less than five students registered. Those students that are registered will be given the option to complete the course in a blended format instead. Student is responsible for paying the difference for the blended option. All refunds strictly follow our terms and conditions policies.
