Who Should Attend

This course is recommended for currently active or soon to be active healthcare providers based in a practice setting that requires PALS knowledge and skills as a condition of employment. This includes nurses, nursing students, physicians, medical students, residents, pharmacists, paramedics, respiratory therapists, and any other healthcare professional who may respond to cardiovascular, respiratory, and shock emergencies involving children and infants.

 

Course Overview

This AHA PALS Provider course is designed to teach the knowledge and skills required to implement the latest American Heart Association’s PALS treatments in accordance to the 2020 AHA Guidelines for CPR and ECC. We provide a unique hands-on form of training that help the students practice and prepare to improve the outcomes of infants, children, and adolescents in a health care setting.

 

This advanced course covers:

  • Basic life support and CPR for children and infants 
  • Recognition and intervention of respiratory distress and failure
  • Recognition and intervention of cardiopulmonary arrest 
  • Recognition and intervention of shock 
  • Recognition and intervention of cardiac arrhythmias
  • Immediate post-cardiac arrest care 
  • The systematic approach to assess and treat children and infants
  • The importance of high-performance team dynamics and communication 

The goal of the PALS Course is to improve the quality of care provided to seriously ill or injured children, resulting in improved outcomes. We provide a unique hands-on form of training with a one to one student-mannequin ratio ensuring effective learning and ample retention.

It is required by the AHA for students to have access to the 2020 ACLS Provider Manual before, during, and after the class. If you do not have access to the manual go to https://shopcpr.heart.org/ to purchase We can include your BLS Certification together with your PALS Course. Select "Yes" if you wish to do so. Adding BLS may add up to an additional 2 hours to your class time.

The American Heart Association (AHA) strongly promotes knowledge and profiency in all courses and have developed instructional materials for this purpose. Use of these materials in an educational course does not represent course sponsorhship by the AHA.

Any fees charged for such a course, except for a portion of fees needed for course materials, do not represent income to the AHA. 

 

When registering to take our classes you are agreeing to our "Terms and Conditions". You can refer to them in your receipt or view them at the bottom of our online registration form. 

All Instructor-led provider courses are subject to cancellations the day before the scheduled course, if there are less than five students registered. Those students that are registered will be given the option to complete the course in a blended format instead. Student is responsible for paying the difference for the blended option. All refunds strictly follow our terms and conditions policies.
